Users of the Records are bound by the following Terms and Conditions:
The user undertakes:-
-
To use and make copies of any documents within the Records only for the purpose(s) stated on your signed and submitted enquiry form.
-
To obtain written permission for any other use.
-
To give access to any copies of documents in the Records, in whole or in part, only to third parties who have obtained NBIS permission to use them.

To acknowledge in any publication, whether printed, electronic, internet-based or broadcast, based wholly or in part on the Records, Norfolk Biodiversity Information Service and the original depositor(s), illustrator(s) or photographer(s).
-
If possible, to supply free of charge to NBIS one copy of any work based wholly or partly on these records. We understand that certain reports are confidential, but are in urgent need of recent data, and would appreciate details of any biological records obtained during environmental surveys.
-
To pay the access fee as detailed on the NBIS website, when invoiced.
-
To notify NBIS of any errors discovered in the records.
-
To accept that NBIS bears no legal responsibility for the accuracy or comprehensiveness of the records, and accepts no liability for indirect, consequential, or incidental damages or losses arising from use of the records. The use of LRC data search services does not in any way replace the need for adequate field survey.
-
To understand that some data may be withheld because of their sensitive nature, the requirements of the Data Protection Act and/or conditions imposed by their owner.
-
If GIS datasets are required, you must be aware these may be based on OS Mastermap and you must have a valid licence to use them.
The absence of records does not imply any species, habitat or designation is absent from the search area. Nor does recorded presence imply current, continuing or breeding presence. Boundaries of sites should be considered as indicative and not definitive.
